Ceasefire negotiations in Gaza appear to have reached a deadlock as Hamas signals it will not move forward with key conditions tied to the next phase of the agreement.
According to analyst Mouin Rabani, Hamas has informed mediators that it will not discuss disarmament or second-phase negotiations until the initial terms of the ceasefire are fully implemented.
This includes a complete cessation of hostilities, increased humanitarian access, and the ability for governance bodies to operate inside the Gaza Strip.
Ongoing strikes and restricted aid flows have worsened the humanitarian situation, while international concerns continue to grow over compliance with legal obligations and rulings by the International Court of Justice.
